During a recent Anaheim mayoral candidates forum, which focused mostly on the role of Disneyland Resort in the city elections as reported by the Voice of OC, all candidates present answered whether they would support Little Arabia District’s designation.
Ashleigh Aitkin, the candidate endorsed by the Democratic Party of Orange County presented the clearest answer.
“I also support the designation of Little Arabia for two reasons. The obvious reason is that we want to celebrate our immigrant communities.. and we want them to have pride in being a part of Anaheim and get involved… Second, is the economic benefit in drawing tourists from the resort district…”
Lori Galloway spoke about her connections and support of the Arab American community without saying whether she supports a designation. Harry Sidhu, the Republican Party-endorsed candidate was absent.
